Oh yes, a blog about my life. Millions will come to hear and see – “what does HE know”, they will ask. “What’s so special about HIS life?”
Well, this blog is part-and-parcel of my fledgling effort to learn something about AFFILIATED MARKETING, which is something that I have never really been interested in before.
Why? you might ask. Well, first of all it’s all part of an effort to find something that is useful to people, and potentially make make money remotely and hopefully passively.
Enter affiliated marketing, which is basically selling products or services (of others) online for a small percentage of the fee.
And I’m happy to say that it requires many of the skills that I’ve developed over the years, so it’s not entirely new. The way it works is new to me. And it’s fun! It’s fun to learn new things and it’s always rewarding to feel empowered with new knowledge.
But here’s the exciting part. The vehicle I’m using is a blog about my life-which is what I know the best I suppose. And about products that I use, and experiences I’ve learned from that might be useful to others. Also, I’m learning to write reviews of products that I use for travel, camping, photography, kayaking, and things related.
So as it turns out, I’m NOT just in it for da-money, as the catch line above suggests, but I am really having a wonderful time learning the process which is, traveling and making video content, finding and using products that I like and enhance my quality of life and offering to others the benefit of what I have experienced.
The Learning Process
There are several areas that come together in this affiliated marketing process.
The process of writing itself is rewarding. To think about what and how I want to say is an exercise in itself. The content of these posts are my actual writing, not AI generated although I use it sparingly for general information. But putting the delicious personal touch on the process is what gives a person great joy.
Working with Social Media is another arena to learn more. Setting up the YouTube cannel is so easy. I had a channel for several years but never did anything with it until I saw how much fun it can be and that there is a potential for earnings.

Working with web pages. Now I have the advantage of having had years of experience at building web pages and working with many other such technologies. But the necessary tools, a blog, and/or YouTube channel, and affiliate marketing training are all available to all. Web pages are not difficult to build one can pretty much DYI as far as getting set up to
Video and photography. Most of you already are pretty good at using your smart phone or other image capturing device such as an SLR or camera. So these skills will be very valuable to you. Video and photos comprise a huge and attractive part of communicating. Along with using your camera, you will learn at some point how to edit video, add audio and a host of other things that are just downright fun to learn.
Learning to put it all together. This path to learn affiliated marketing is a journey. Like most other worthwhile persuits in life will take time and patience, and a desire to learn new things.
Even if I never made one-red-cent from all of these efforts, I will have learned a number of new marketable skills without spending any money – which in itself is worth it in my opinion.
